After the introduction of our first insect breeding box in 2018, we can now announce our second generation of XL boxes. With this new container we will take insect farming to a higher level. What remains is the same growing and stacking height of the box, such as the 6207 190mm insect box. One of the changes that has been made is the different structure in the bottom to have sufficient strength. The larger size ensures fewer logistical movements in the production facility.
The open character of the corner columns ensures that the container is easy to clean. In addition, the insect breeding boxes have a uniquely designed long side that, together with the new smooth bottom, ensures improved airflow between the boxes. Together with specialists in the field of automation, we looked at the most efficient automatic processing of these new breeding containers. Partly due to sufficient stiffness in the corners in combination with sufficient grip options, these second generation containers are very suitable for automatic stacking, unstacking and washing.
The new insect breeding boxes are made from a food-safe approved combination of polypropylene and dye, which complies with the latest legislation regarding migration. Due to the use of PP material, the containers are very dimensionally stable and can also be cleaned at high temperatures.
